Hello all. My name is Steven. I am currently living in Joplin, Missouri. I am in the Marine Corps and I have an 85 Tecate that I am building with a 94 KX500 Power plant..

That should prove to be an interesting project.
Can't wait to see your progress....

Biggest thing left to fab up is the pipe. I have to cut and turn it so it will exit out the left side. After that I will get the cylinder sent out to be ported, bored, and replated. Not sure what size I am going to go yet..

I would love to just be able to find a Tecate,or Honda 250R/350X 3 wheeler....they're non-existant in New England.A few old ATC 110s' that have been sitting out in the weather for decades is all I ever see in these here parts of America....and what kinda fun are you gonna have on a non-suspended,underpowered 110??
I envy you guys that can still find them in your area, but I'm also a bit jealous too. :-P

I have always been a trike person. I want one of each.. I think I have a problem but I will never admit it. There is quite a few trike guys up there around New York and Ohio. I have an 85 ATC250R, 2 more R frames to get together, an 85 Tri Z, a tri zinger, 85 Tecate, and a whole bunch of ATC70's.. Best place for them is the west coast for sure though..

Whoever had the motor before decided it would be a good idea to cut out the intake bridges on the cylinder. The cases are cracked between the crank and the tranny. not a huge crack but cracked..

Got a little bit accomplished today.. Got the pipe cut and turned. All tacked up. Just need to burn it in and make some mounting tabs for it.. Kinda funny but I actually rode a KX5 for the first time today.. Impressed for sure.. It got me even more excited about the Tecate 5..

Your going to Love that machine I miss mine even though it scared me to death.
Your conversion looks great. Using the KX cradle was a good idea I built my own and it wanted to crack every so often
You will want to stretch your swinger mine was +6 with a tired stock 93 engine and it was still hard to keep the front end on the ground.
