I am 33 and just suffered a heart attack about two weeks ago. I also had a pace maker put in. Any other riders on here have any experience with that. I really want to know what my future with dirtbikes is. I hope I can still do the desert races.

I had a heart attack at 46 almost 47 six years ago. I had four stents. It slowed me down and I ride more laid back but I still get out there. Bought a Spot Connect, Life-flight membership, and try to remember a bottle of Nitro. I don't know if I would ride faster now anyway a body is bound to slow down anyway. I say,,, take all reasonable precautions,,, but never, never, never give up (Winston Churchill).

I was just as surprised.

Yea no kidding.. Needless to say, you have made me scedual a checkup..
any reasons for it? I have a friend our age that has had several.. but it comes from years of hard drug use.... her first heart attack was at age 20.... yea....
Hows recovery going?

Thinking about this today trying to be logical.
1 Racing would probably be way to much adrenalin
2 Probably mostly mellow mountain trails & fire roads
3 No riding stuff that you have to stop & lift the bike to get it turned around & heading back down hill
4 Just take it easy & sight see, they wouldnt restrict you from driving a car, change it from pounding trails to just enjoying being out of the house.
& last but not least it hit me that if I was to die riding it would sure beat the sheet out of kicking off at work. Really though I'm not making lite of your health & wish you many more years of riding & hope they can get you healthy again

for the time being. yes..
I know many people that the heart attack was the 'WAKE UP CALL' and slowly (key word) ate right, worked out ALOT. and now run marithons, triathalons, etc etc.... (friends of the wifes... She does that crazy stuff... I cant run long due to highschool ankle injury)

One other thought after googling it.
Spot Connect sounds like something all of us who ride alone alot should have. Just so our better halves & families can collect the life insurance. That & if your not actually dead you might want medical help or search & rescue.
Great call ID KX500

My veins were too narrow at my heart. I had two stints put in.

I dont know you but very sorry to hear this. Im a few years younger and wouldnt expect this at our age. I love rideing so much and feel for you that you might not be able to do it again. I would take it slow but I would have to say that I would ride again....real EASY!! The saying "ride it like you stole it". I would ride it like I bought it!! Good luck bro with everything and your health...
