AF build with an '89 KX250 engine questions

Hello all. I'm a new member to the site but have been a lurker for a few years now. Anyways, I'm hoping some of you might be able to help me. What I'm planning on doing is an AF conversion using an '06 KX250F chassis and a '94 KDX250 engine. The reason I posted this here is that the KDX250 engine is based on the '89 KX250 so all relevant info should be the same as it and I'm pretty sure no one has done an AF conversion using the KDX version of this engine. I know someone is already questioning my choice (maybe my sanity! ) of engine but I love the KDX250 engine. Wide ratio 5 speed, lighting coil, and a total tractor of an engine!

So, has anyone done an AF conversion using this series of KX250 engine? If so, anything special to it compared to later KX250AF conversions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think its a great idea! Ive had some time on a 92 KDX250 and it was a really nice motor that was coupled to a somewhat compromised chassis. I think the combo of the wr trans, lighting coil and that sweet powerband in a modern chassis would work out just fine. Do it and post up pics! There is a guy on here from S America that did a conversion usinf that era motor. You might have to search a little.

I think the members name was Jbersano. no reason it wouldn't work, I did a 06 250 motor into a 07 250f chassis, it felt really good but it was to much bike for my wife so I am building a kx125/200 hybrid.
