Need Help With kx250 rear brakes!!!
« on: September 20, 2011, 10:16:01 AM »
Bought a 01 kx250 and both front and rear brakes were shot.
the front i fixed but the rear brakes are pissing me off and i have no clue what else to do.

first i changed the line with a brand new one.
then i rebuilt the master cylinder
then i took apart the rear caliper and blew it out with air and checked the seals for nicks and scrapes
then i put in new pads!

i don't know what i'm doing wrong? its not building up pressure and the caliper wont even close. pleas help

Hey Reckles,
There is a post By Username Motorad, that had quite a fit with his brakes and ended up being the anti-rattle clip was off just a smidge and played Havoc with his brakes.  I'll look for the post and pics.

Hey Reckles,
When you bleed the rear brake make a loop in the bleeder line so there is no way for the air to get drawn back in the caliper.

Reverse bleed.  Use a syringe with a tube, open the bleeder and force the fluid, keeping the air out up to the resevoir.  Sometimes a bubble won't work out of othe master cylinder.

take the caliper off and have a friend hold it hold it as high above the master cylinder as possible while bleeding it. also make sure the pedal position adjuster is allowing you to get a full stroke of the master cylinder piston.
