« on: August 26, 2011, 11:36:29 AM »
ive got an FMF pipe on my 250 with about a palm sized dent in the lower half of the expansion chamber... im having it repaired right now, what kind of power do yall think I should gain if any from fixing it, just wondering if anyone has had experience with this, or heard something about it... thanks!

well I like it :-D the powerband comes on smoother and quicker, and it carries way up hire in the revs, it really opened it up! I can hold the wheelies real good!

but after I rode it around I shut it off, then I hopped back on it fired up first kick and now my powervalves wont open
the rod is still connected to the lever that comes out of the cylinder but I think the mechanical governor in the case is messed up somehow, once I fix one thing another goes wrong!

thats nice the power was improved, but that whacks about the powervalves.

if the govenor is really broken ill give you a good deal on my extra govenor i have in my spares box.
did you check the nut on the actuator arm?

well I can move the rod with my finger and I hear the valves opening in the cylinder... I dont know much about what would be wrong if the nut somehow tightened itself :? but im guessing that theirs something wrong with the governor but I still need to learn more about that part of the system... its kinda weird it reminds me of an old air cooled 2 stroke with no powervalves and a flat top end lol the engine feels smooth though when its not screaming to all hell atleast...

And lo, I did loft the front wheel and carried it forth to the unbelievers, and cast it down before them and said unto them ''look now upon the might of my throttle control ye pitiful cretinous ones''
And the unbelievers did quake in their boots....

well he just got the rm and it had a bad water pump seal(s) and it was burning gear oil... so he fixed the water pump seals and it still was burning oil, so I told him its probably his right hand main seal so were gonna check that soon... but as far as it stands my KX is way faster! hes just in my dust all day lol
