i think 60ish of the 200ish names in my phone are bike related, shudda taken up basket weaving.....
And lo, I did loft the front wheel and carried it forth to the unbelievers, and cast it down before them and said unto them ''look now upon the might of my throttle control ye pitiful cretinous ones''
And the unbelievers did quake in their boots....

install new o-ring, collar, sprocket. Then, place a thin shim between the sprocket and retainer clip. this keeps pressure on the o-ring. We always used sea-doo steering shims (they come in different thicknesses and fit around the shaft perfect).This always worked for me,you might try it if you can find something that will work.

I had the same problem with my 125. I went to replace the seal thinking that was the problem, but I noticed it was leaking from the o-ring. I replaced the o-ring but still had the problem. It would not stop leaking and the chain would collect the leaking oil and throw it all over the place.

It needs pressure against the o-ring to create a seal. My sprocket wore down a little around the circlip reducing its thickness, causing a little play on the shaft.

My solution: I flattened a washer with a hammer and anvil then drilled the center to the size I needed, and it stopped the leak.

my sprocket has no play in it. i think its just the collar. ill see what happens

and BTW i am using a sunstar 12t sprocket

Well mustang, I guess at least me and you have all of our oil inside the crankcase. :-D

wow,, i havent been able to find the time to do this thing until now.

ok so the kx500 sprocket collar will not fit  :cry:

but the dimensions are SO close i mean very close.

it is 2mm wider and 1mm taller when you lay it down flat

is anyone here an experienced machinist that can cut this for me?

sanding block or a belt sander? done carefully of course, if you use sander.fingers don't grow back.K.

I thought you meant too thick.careful marking and use of a dremel or other rotary tool, (practice on scrap if you aren't too familliar with one) should be able to sort this.mark the area you need removing on the face and slowly remove it, and after this is removed smooth the faces with wet and dry.hth, K.
