I am sure that I have used KX500 sleeves in my Tecates.which use the same as kx250s. If memory serves me right you have to use the 500 seal also do to a larger OD sleeve.
The biggest issue I have seen on them leaking is getting some tension on the Oring like was stated use shims under the snapring some of the aftermarket sprockets are thinner thus there is no tension held in on O ring

so what your saying is that a new kx500 collar and seal and o ring? and an oem sprocket? is what i need to get

Sorry, you said a red river so I assumed.  Good luck.  Sometimes the prong an get torn when you put it together too.

yes use the 500 parts. the sprocket dosnt matter as long as you make sure its tight you should have to work to get the snap ring on .use shims if its not.

  If you don't swap over to all 5oo parts, get the measurement for the 250 collar.  Maybe I can find some stock that could be cut to fit.
      I have seen several options available.

25MM ID x 30 OD X 9.53MM length. maybe the length was greater at one point cause the sprocket spins over it wearing it down

but dont you think it would be easier to buy 500 parts?

ok i will but i got to wait till payday next friday :( and i am kind of embarrassed to call the dealer when i was there yesterday getting parts .seems like im there everyday  :| but only for nuts and bolts
