2 Stroke Deceased
« on: July 23, 2011, 08:51:18 AM »
I heard from a few different people, that they are forecasting that 2 strokes as well as 2 stroke parts, will be nonexistent come the year 2013..?????????????? Has anyone heard this?                              I doubt its true and dont believe such tragedy but if it does we'll all be stuck with that 4 stroke stuff.  No more dindingdingwingwingpopdingberrrtttttttt.

Maybe new two stroke bikes will be done by then but parts will  be around for quite sometime.  KTM seems to still have the smarts to market them.  They're our best hope.

Its BS. They will be around for a while. KTM, Gas Gas, Yamaha, TM, Husqvarna are all still readily available and will continue to be so.
A couple of 03 and 04 KXs, a few YZs, 3 PE 400s, a DR and a TS.

dont believe all that you hear.....It seems you have not been looking at KTM or Husqvarna....both still making very advanced 2 stroke.....Im actualy finding myself very interested in one of them.
If im not mistaken, Yamaha is still making the yz250
and then there is the snowmobile world along with the jet skis and the marine world too.....plenty of four strokes in the lineups  but  the the 2 strokes are still amongst the highest performance machines.
as great as the modern 4 stroke is these days, its gonna take years more R&D to overcome the flat out simplicity, reliablity and power to size and weight ratio that still cannot be matched. if at all possible.....braaap !
