« on: June 02, 2011, 04:04:07 AM »
time for my first ride scince i broke my wrist in april last year. my friends and i are going riding in the bentonite hills of wyoming to do some hillclimbing. should be fun and i hope i don't get injured again. my wrist still can't take much abuse even after a year of healing. maybe i'm just a wuss :| or maybe i am getting old  i got the bike out yesterday and she fired in 3 kicks after sitting for 13 months. gotta love the k5.

  Hey MadDawg!
Glad to hear your getting back in the saddle!
I hear you about feeling that maturity has taken its toll.  Oy-Va! :x
The good news is you can still get out there and enjoy some time with your friends.  Just keep the main thing the main thing,  having a good time!
Looking forward to a good report !

A wuss wouldn't get back on the K5.  :-D

I did notice a little gray in your fishing picture,,, my healing time has doubled for every decade of living. My riding style went from "crazy" to "easy" over the last 30 years,,, a smarter rider now. I messed up my shoulder 6 years ago,,,, and just noticed recently that it doesn't bother me anymore.

Nothing wrong with gray on top...

Been getting grays up there for the past 5 years now....

there are times I think I got paint in my hair...... just to look closer and realize... Nope.. no paint..

Take it easy...   Always more fun when you get to go riding again... instead of more recovery.

Well, I'm 37 and i saw an old coworker a few months ago who said, "Wow, you've really got a lot of gray hair since the last time I saw you." I told her that I was lucky that it was just going gray and not falling out. I had to refrain from commenting on the fact that a KX500 is probably the only machine capable of pulling her *ss up a hill, because she gained at least 30 pounds since the last time I saw her, and it never appeared as though anorexia ran in her family!

I'm just happy that it's the cool thing to wear flat billed caps with your ears tucked in, like Chad Reed! As long as I retain sideburns and cul de sac scraps around the back, no one can tell!

I love the bentonites, I have spent many a winter day there having fun. There is so much area to play, climb hills to your hearts content, then take a road trip up into the base of the pryors, back to the hills and then maybe a short trip to the moon dunes. you should have a ball

went on the trip and had a blast. i found that i can't ride very well anymore(i was never travis pastrana anyways) but the bike survived well even though she took some hard tumbles. putting on the new plastic before the ride was a big mistake, oh well. tons of big steep hills to climb and lots of soft moon dust to ride in. i highly recommend riding around lovell wyoming if you get the chance. wait till fall though it gets really hot there in the summer.
