YEa. I dont know what they were chasing...

Id be interested in seeing if you could use the 92 basket, with the simple swap of some other off the shelf parts, (clutch plates/inner hub possibly)

I don't have one right now but since it appears that nobody else does either I'm working on buying one right now....

We need a 90-91 basket.
I have emailed a seller to get him to verify the engine ID numbers.
As soon as it's confirmed I will order it.

Just a FYI. This is the basket that came out of the box in the picture. It has the number 08261304 at about 6 oclock in the pic.
Sorry for the quality of the picture and yes I should be wearing shoes in the shop :-D

flip that basket over and count the teeth on the ring gear and measure the OD and count the small gear and measure the bore of the small gear.

I just bought a 90 kx250 basket.
As soon as I get it I will get the dimensions.
Kaw Rider, if you want to do some toying with it, let me know and I'll send it to you.

You are right marco I looked up the wrong year (92) sorry about that but the 92 is the same part number :)

91 kx250
http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/1991-kawasaki-kx250-kx250h2-us/o/m3835#sch53539

02 kx500
http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/2002-kawasaki-kx500/o/m3853#sch288615

Looks like according to bikebandit the 250 uses the same part number as the 500 up to 97.

I have to admit this is kind of exciting :) I can tell you guys are pumped up too how awesome to have you guys checking dimensions and sizes big thanks to those doing the leg work here and I am all ready to hit the order button if this all pans out.

Just an old guy that enjoys going fast, I was in the army for 6 years and bought my first K5 when I returned from basic training. I raced a yz60 from age 6 to 8  a kx80 from 8 to 12  a kx125 from 12-17 intermediate class on k5 which I've owned 3.

Hello.
I see a common mistake here.
When looking up parts numbers on bikebandit, Kawasaki, or wherever, there are two numbers, the actual part number and the diagram reference number.
People often mistake the diagram reference number which tends to be the same for many years with the part number.
As an example, this is bikebandits numbers:
13095: (diagram reference number)
HOUSING-COMP-CLUTCH
763914 ***This is the part number***
(546125-001)          $297.32
1990 KX250(KX250H1)
1991 KX250(KX250H2)

13095:  (diagram reference number)
HOUSING-COMP-CLUTCH
763918 *** This part number does not match the 90-91***
(546129-001)          $284.67
1992 Kawasaki KX250(KX250J1)
1993 Kawasaki KX250(KX250J2)

If you got to Kawasaki's site, you will see the actual factory part number and the diagram reference number.
Here is the numbers for the baskets.
91kx250 13095 (diagram reference number) 13095-1206 (part number) HOUSING-COMP-CLUTCH
92kx250 13095 (diagram reference number) 13095-1240 (part number) HOUSING-COMP-CLUTCH

As you can see the part numbers are different.
This does not mean that the parts won't interchange.
It simply means that there is something different, ie color, style, casting, supplier ect.
Hope this takes some of the mystery out of this.

I will get measurments and tooth count on that , but it will probably be late tonight.
