WON ME A BIKE!
« on: May 14, 2011, 10:00:42 AM »
:-D MY BRO. WON A 2010 KAWA KLX250S DEWALT BIKE! At this years 2011 northeastern forest products and equipment expo!! AWSOME!! I was the one who knew about the raffle and I dragged my dad there, my brother and his girl, and made them all fill out as many tickets as they possibly could! I must have filled out about a 100 of them myself, and he only did 6 cuz he wasnt taking it seriously.... AND HE WON IT!! I wanted to get him a 2t 125 for him to ride with me anyway so now he has this. It's perfect for him to relearn a bike both on the trail and the road.(250 4t, less snappy) so I couldnt be happier! At least I get to maintain it!

I unfortunately don't have a pic of the bike (STOOPID!) but we pick it up on tue.-wed. I will show it off then!!
I do though have pics of half million dollar harvesters I thought you all might be interested in. the cabins look like spaceship cockpits!!!

I AM DEFINITLY GETTING MY HEAVY EQUIP OP LICENSE!

Went to pick up the bike today, in the crappy, rainy, s**tty, cloudy, grey, 40 deg. weather!! :x :x :x
I was going to DRIVE IT HOME, but it was so cold and rainy I gave up and just picked it up with the truck.
OH WELL, the spring will make it to maine eventually. And when it does I WILL BE READY!
This thing is very comfortable to sit on, and is so quiet you can hardly tell it's even running!
Can't wait to ride it and see what a 4t is all about.

The decals are only a skin too. I guess you can just peel them off with a hairdryer. And the original Kawa graphics are underneath.
I will drive it like this for a while to show it off. Then I will peel them off and have a normal looking bike!

See the ripples in the skin.

That's great.  Those are fun little bikes.  BUT they are a gutless wonder when it comes to power.  I think Kawi's target market for the KLX250S is the 14 year old "just got my motorcycle license" crowd.  And they are very quite.  You can really sneak up on a person.  I bought one for my nephew to have a bike when he visited Oklahoma.  He only came down one time to ride, his job, marriage and kids got into the mix.  It sat for sometime and the battery went dead.  Bought a new battery and started riding it to the post office 2 or 3 times a week.  I liked the idea of using it for dual sport riding but the low power became a problem for me.  So I bought an FMF Q4 pipe with the PowerBomb header and took the pipe and bike to Bill Blue to have him install his big bore kit, pumper carb and my pipe.  I ride the bike all the time now.  It's a blast with the extra horsepower.  It's a little loud for my taste but easy to get unstuck if you ride by yourself.

Yeah danger, I figured as much on the power side of things. That is why it's the perfect learner bike for my brother. When he dumps it or gets sick of it, then I will mod it to eek some more power from it and use it to bomb around the backroads up here. can't argue with free too! :-D
