Chain guide
« on: October 28, 2010, 07:20:51 AM »
I have just changed the gearing on the bike from stock 14/47 to 14/49 and the chain is being held up by the chain guide now do to the larger back sprocket. Has other owners found this a problem as it looks like the guide will wear out a lot sooner now. I know this was a problem on the KXF450 2009 bike and Kawasaki changed the guide on their 2010 bikes. Does anyone have a good fix for this or can you buy a more suitable guide, and if so can anyone recommend a good one cheers.

I run 13/49's, I just run mine for years as a matter of fact.  Yes I do have to change blocks out sooner.  Doesnt seen to hurt anything though.  I guess if your really concerned you could run one link longer chain.  I havent done that though.  Plus I'm running a 13 tooth counter so the rear wheel goes back because of that.  I really worry about it though.
