Don't hold it against me but I grew up racing Honda's in motocross, from the late 80's thru the early 90's. Bought my first KX250 8 years ago and have been loyal ever since. That one was a 1987 KX250, had to pay some bills so we sold it only to buy a 1993 KX250 a year later. 2 years later I was not doing much riding, I was up to my ears in work. I sold it, only to repeat the cycle last year when I bought this 1997 KX250 basket case for 400.00. Crank was siezed, forks were bleeding fluid as if it were an artery, caved in radiators, flat tires, and mis-matched plastic.
But the boy was racing his KTM 50 cc Pro Sr, ( if you ever get a chance to buy on of those... be sure to pass on that.) I've had former girlfriends that were less matiance the those bikes. Anyway, I convinced the wife that the only way our son was going to get faster, is if I teach him. And what better way to teach than by example... one of my more brilliant ideas to date.
We are soon to scrap the 50 and move him up to a 1996 KX80.
