kx500 clutch play

hey all i am rebuildin my bike and i took off the side cover and took the clutch plates out and i have up and down movement on my inner clutch basket and also have play on the outer clutch basket is this ok

the clutch hub should have no movment, the basket  should have a little. i wouled say your clutch bearing and gearbox bearing are worn

when a clutch comes apart it can cause severe damage to the surounding parts. i would get it sorted

You need to check the bearing in the cases , I have seen them worn and I have seen the case worn and the bearing moving in the worn case , both lead to hard or non-shifting trannys, You gotta fix it plain and simple the longer you wait to fix it , the more expensive it will be to fix it . CBX
