new guy.....long time big bore fan, from OR
« on: February 06, 2011, 09:12:54 AM »
Ever since i got my first yz490, i was hooked on big bore two stroke power. Its cheap power, no cams/valves etc to mess with. I moved up to a 96 cr500 , boy night and day , worlds better than the old yamma hammer. Then i finally got an 04Kx 500 . Ya , I was in Iraq cruisin' craigslist on the net, when i came across it. I have an awesome wife who agreed to go pick it up. Got it for $1800. Needless to say it was great coming home. Looking forward to picking up Kawi  knowledge here. I ride sand alot because it is close , but i am going to try some different stuff this year, like a gp course , poker runs etc.

I'd like to go to China and ride the 500 meter (1640 feet) dunes over there.
I wonder if there are any K5 riders over there.... Probably not

I do most of my dune riding at Juniper Dunes in eastern WA, it is next to the Tri cities. It is only 57 miles from my house. I have ridden Christmas Valley OR  a few times and St. Anthony ID once. I have yet to ride the OR coast yet though, noise nazi's and crowds aren't my thing. I would give it a shot though . St. Anthony's was awesome and look forward to going back, unfortunately its 600 miles, going to make it happen, though.

I never been to St. Anthony's but know a lot of people that have rode there.
I think I'll make that trip sooner or later.
I have ridden Christmas valley several times as well as several spots on the Oregon coast but never up in Washington.
If you have some pics of Washing coast riding, post them up.
I'd love to see them.

Sandblaster I actually live in OR near Umatilla. I've never ridden the WA coast , don't even know if there are riding areas there. Juniper dunes are right by Pasco WA , which is south eastern WA.
