Best place to buy parts?
« on: February 02, 2011, 02:09:07 AM »
Need to order some stock items for my KX500 - who is the best place to get 'em from?
Did some online searching, and found best prices (so far) at MetricPartsOutlet.com

Never heard of them before, do not want to order and find out they won't ship or something.

Anyone use a trusted online site with good prices?

Thanks, but I'm in the U.S.

Also:
MetricPartsOutlet.com KX500 exhaust gasket = $4.09
CheapCycleParts.com KX500 exhaust gasket = $7.88

Big difference in cost.....

So I just now called and ordered from MetricPartsOutlet.com, and the guy on the phone seemed pretty cool, knew that '04 was the last year of the KX500, and knew they were
beasts.

So, initially it appears they may be a good place to do business with.....

I've had issues with cheapcycleparts.com Took 3 months to get everything straightened out. I'll never deal with them again. bikebandit.com seems to have decent prices on most of the stuff I've looked at. Much cheaper than my local dealer that 80% of this county wont go to for anything. Let me know how metricpartsoutlet.com works out for ya.
It's hard to keep a drivers license riding a 2 stroke dirt bike on the street.  If you drive within the law they are VERY boring.

Ordered a clutch fiber kit, clutch springs and cover gasket. Wasn't told the clutch fiber kit was on back order for 2 weeks. I told them to send me one that they had in stock even if I had to pay more for it and they said I would have to pay a 20% restocking fee if I didn't wait 30 days from my purchase date for them to make sure they couldn't get the part. Same thing happened the second time around. I even had the guy go get the part and tell me he had it in his hand. I think he was BS'n me. Finally after the second 30 day period I told them to just give me my money back and I would find it elsewhere. After I said that they magically had a kit in stock and shipped it out. Still took 2 and a half weeks to get here. I'm in Michigan. That was 3 months I could have been riding my Ninja before the weather got stupid cold and snow everywhere.
