New to kxriders!
« on: January 10, 2011, 08:41:28 AM »
I am new to kxriders but not new to having a good time on my kx 250.  I have been part of other forums but with little imput from others it didn't seem to be effective.  I have heard good things about this forum and enjoy fishing through posts to gain additional information as well as helping others when ever possible.  I ride both dirtbikes as well as quads in my free time but enjoy mostly ripping my 1996 kx 250. I bought this bike 3 years ago and have done a complete overhaul frame up. My kx has 07 plastics and the hop ups are never ending. Living in Seasonal Michigan my riding season is limited so during the winter months I bring my bike in doors and find new things to do to it.  Yesterday I started tearing down the bike for some powder coating.  I am powder coating the rear swing arm, front and rear rims wet black and powdering the hubs and rear spring Candy lime green. My kx never seems to be done or good enough. I mainly ride trail systems but make my way to the sand dunes a few times a year as well. If any one rides here in Michigan I would be interested as to where you ride. I typically ride the Bull Gap trail system that is sand/mud trails with one decent size dune. This trail system is over 100 miles of trails so exploring new trails (getting lost) seems to be the norm. I look forward exploring your forum and hearing from u guys. Dan

Hello Dan.
Welcome to KX Riders.
Your bike looks great!
You will find a great group of guys and plenty of info to keep your bike in great working condition.
I have been to many other KX forums but this is by far the best one I have found.
Enjoy!

Thanks, I use to have retro decals on my 96 but recently removed them and will probally just keep it clean and simple.  Last night I spent many hours prepping wheels, hubs, swingarm and othr misc parts for powder. I did the swing arm and rims in super durable wet black and the hubs and rear spring candy lime green. The green looks great. chrome base with a transparent lime green. Thanks dan
