Looks as if there will be no KX500 for 2005. I've only had the word of mouth from my good friend over at Kelly's Kawasaki so if you guys have any further information lets hear it...

PSST... That means you Manny

Yes, I heard the same thing from Destry Abbott. He claims to be looking forward to riding the new 450 4stroke. Wish him the best of luck on the rest of this season with the K5. (Quoteing Destry from his site, I haven't  had the privlegde of talking to him personally.)

...the folks at Team Green aren't sure yet...but...they've heard this, too.

The new 450 is wild! I'll be gettin' a couple of K5s in the crate...kinda like stocking up on a fine vintage!

"Sad; but, true"....Metallica.

"For way too many years now, Kawasaki has relied on the KX 500 two stroke for cross country/Baja style racing. While they have some good results to show with this bike over the years, it's widely known that the competitive KX 500s have huge amounts of work done to them, including complete combustion chamber re-shaping. Harshly put, a stock KX 500 is wrong, out of the box."

That is right from that lameass article...and...it is a lie.

The amount of work done to the average team-green race bike is LESS expensive the average 4-Stroke wannabe's mods!

a Q: How many "factory replica" 4-strokes can ANYONE of us BUILD IN OUR GARAGE FOR LESS THEN $7000? Hmmmmmm!!!????

The point? YOU can HAVE EXACTLY(!) what Destry nrides for that kinda $!

Now...go and TRY(!) to build a Tadesco replica for less than $10,000! GOOD LUCK!

Disclaimer........

I saw and heard the footage of an American being murdered today...at the hands of Terrorists that need to leave the planet....therefore....I "flame"...sorry.

Just alittle more to think about...

Mmmmm.....

Errrrrrr......

No thanks.

I have a 14 year old motocrosser that still runs just fine, I don't think one of the new high revving four strokes four strokes will be chucking out anything like the horsepower that my KX does after 14 years.

And I suspect that when rebuild time comes it will involve a hell of a lot more money than I currently pay.

It may handle better on a MX track but I don't give a a toss cos I don't ride MX tracks on mine :D

Well I think when  most people think of a 4-stroke there thinking the same easy maintence of the Honda XR's,but those new 4-strokes need a lot of maintence to keep them running strong and parts for them arent cheap,or to hop them up!4-strokes are great, but if you read a magazine you would think thats all you have to choose from and that the 2-stroke is already dead!It just amazes me how so many people jumped on the 4-stroke band wagon,in my opinion its the tree huggers that got the EPA to get the wrecking ball rolling over the 2-strokes and eliminate them, slowly faze them out so theres not a big stink as if they just killed them all at once. Its like the continuing rise in the price of gas,two years ago we were upset gas got to $1.50 or $1.75,last year we were upset it was up to $2.00 a gallon and this year were going to see $3.00 a gallon. So this year we would be happy if it stayed at $2.00,its all about conditioning so people accept it and they dont raise a stink. So in my opinion its the tree huggers that have killed the KX500,its like a t-shirt I saw  that said "forget the whales, save the 2-stroke!",and now I'll step off my soap box!

2-stroke will be back this year it will begin in 125cc look at Yamaha 125-05. I think about 2-3 years the 4-stroke is dead,it?s to expensiv to repair. The new 2-stoke is cleaner, better in  bottom then 4-stroke.
Long live 2-stroke !!!!

Nice looking 450, but not for me. The only 4 stroke you will see me on is my street bike. Like the smell of 2 strokes too much.
