88 K5 clutch explosion

Never seen this happen before.Complete rebuild on its way.This is my basket case resto.

i dont know.I bought it as a basket case and parted the motor today.When i took off the clutch cover the back of the clutch basket [the gear] had come away and the plastic spacers?? were mashed up everywhere.

i have seen that before, when i bought my k5 89 it was worse than that, at least you have some fingers on the basket lol. i got the mitaka basket. you have to press the center gear but the ring gear goes on using bolts. i had my doubts at first but but i gave it a good work out (to the point the engine gave up) and it was fine. heres some picks of the new basket dont have the old 1 and a sub frame its the only 1 i can find. it dead straight with a couple of small marks from the chain. threads look good too but will have to check them through properly

how much you asking for the subframe? Hopefully going to look at some stuff in the next few days but dont know what there is till i get there.
