When I built mine, I was told the 2000 CR250 boot was the one to use. So I did, but you have to make an aluminium adaptor ring to connect it to the kxf450 box. It does work fine, but I have since read that a KX250 boot does the job aswell.

If anybody wants one I have a spare CR airbox and boot, but I'm in the UK.

I used a 99 KX250 boot.  Just what I had laying around the shop. Worked great with a little adapting to the airbox.

I used a 2000 cr250 airboot on a 09 kx250f frame and when all said and done it didnt really fit exact, It was about 1" from the carb so I used 1 of j-fabs reed spacer to help out, still had to muscle it in but it worked. So in other words dont use it!

Does that work?  I bought a KX250 boot and couldnt get it between the shock and the frame.

In the end made a custom Ali tube and glued/fixed it to the old KXF boot.  :?

NoBody Really answered the question of which Intake boot is the best to use on the af Conversion.

Just thought that maybe someone had or could let me know what the majority of you are using for the intake boot from the air box to the carb. I thought after seeing several of these builds that there might be one common intake that worked best...

thanks

PM JFAB or call Service Honda/Kawasaki.  They could tell you best.
Good Luck

I've done several and have used the 99-02 KX 250 airboot, you still have to make a adapter ring but it seems to fit pretty well. There are some companies that are making a whole intake system that uses a filter that clamps onto a ring, it replaces the whole stock system that looks like it may work. SH uses the CR250 I believe.

you can use a 11/16 or a 43/64ths bit cant remember which one is a scosh of 17mm, like 17.05mm or call Mcmaster Carr and get a 17mm

Don is right.  The 43/64" drill (.6718" is only .0028" bigger than 17mm (.669")
