Introductions
« on: December 18, 2010, 03:37:43 AM »
I'm Dillon,46, happily married, and work for the USPS for the past 16 yrs. My wife and I do Pitt-Bull rescue. I just got an '04 KX500 with around 40 hrs. on her. It was a single owner, older guy who took meticulous care of it. Still has the factory chain, sprockets, and tires! All are being replaced. Never dropped. So, I'm pretty stoked. I live in Chattanooga, TN and drove my '87 Caprice all the way to Davenport, Iowa to buy this mean machine 2 weeks ago. Let me tell ya, that's one hell of a ride. I drove 1450 miles in 24 hrs. It rained, d**n near the whole ride. Never owned a MX-bike but have been a outlaw street racer since forever. This is how I progressed thru my Kawasaki lineage; my first bike was a '69 H1 KH500 Mach III,had it for about 1 yr, 2nd was a '72 H2 KH750 Mach IV, about 1.5 yrs, 3rd was '76 KZ900, about 2 yrs, 4th was a '77 KZ1000 with 1105 kit, 29 mikuni smoothbores/Kerker and struts {full-time} about 2 yrs. 5th was a '78 KZ1000 w/1260 kit 33 mikunis', struts, Gatlin Racing sidewinder, MRE shifter, 8" over dbl. clubfoot swingarm, big web cams, etc, etc... 3 yrs. 6th was a '00 ZX-12R w/muzzy pipe & shifter cams degreed, lowered. had it for 1 year went thru a divorce, got taken to the cleaners and had to sell. 7th was an '02 ZX-12R set up the same as the '00, had it for 3 years. I was born and raised in New Orleans and when Hurricane Katrina hit I stayed there until 4 months after the storm and then moved here to Chattanooga,TN. I sold my '02 ZX-12R  to finance this house. I've been living here for 5 yrs. It sure aint no New Orleans, we will get back home when the opportunity presents itself. So now it's tyme to have some d**n good tymes on the plentiful mountain trails around here. The trails around here are mainly atv trails. Very well maintained, speeds of 60-70mph in some sections-Yeah...KILLER BRA!! These trails are very scenic. That's why I decided to get this KX instead of a Ninja 14, I realize throttle control is of the essence, but respecting power is nothing new 4 me. If I didn't take myself out in my premiere days on my H1 & H2... I'll be cool on the 500...   Laters

Welcome to KXriders, and nice bike!
USPS?
I spent over 70K there last year and will do more than that this year.
It's nice to know that some of that money is helping fellow K5 riders stay in their home :-o
Post some pics of your ride when you have the time.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
