How much Rotating weight is added with this setup verses stock? I have a 14oz. flywheel weight on my stock ignition now. This looks like an awsome ign. system!

The flywheel weighs about 7 oz less than stock.  However,  as you can see from the pictures,  there are more pick up posts than stock.  With more magnetic material behind the flywheel it creates a greater flywheel affect.  Running in the woods I have not felt the need for a flywheel weight.  It is a far better built system than stock from what I see.

I am running the BD Dual 4" Fuego HID Headlights and BD LED tail light.  I also have Highway Dirtbikes LED turn signals.  It is street legal.

Does this system have a woodruff keyway machined into its internal taper?

No it does not.  Timing is set with a dial indicator timing gauge.  The Stator on this system is fixed and the flywheel is the variable.  You set it piston at about 2.2 mm BTDC and then align index marks on the flywheel and stator plate, install flywheel and torque up.  An impact gun makes it real easy to set.

Does this system have a woodruff keyway machined into its internal taper?

Yee Haa.  Finally the missing link that I have been searching for.  The KLX500 is now coming to life.  Re-winding the KX lighting coil was only gong to get me around 45 - 50 watts, so never enough.

How do I get my hands on one? Can you PM me with some details on the output as I am going to merge the KX engine, with the electrics of a KLX and make it a road registered Frankenstein here in Australia.

Thanks

Hi Kiwi500,
I am waiting with anticipation for some pics and details.  I am about to buy one, and just wanted your feedback (as I am sure we all are).

A little birdy told me that there is a optional light weight flywheel for this system...

Could be the ticket for those trying to run the old 87 ignitions .. Or pvl..

Any chance I can get a picture of the standard, and light weight flywheel next to eachother alex??  And possibly a stocker for good measure??

I'm thinking light weight one..  With a flywheel weight like my ward one..  For quick jekle Hyde setup...
