I bought a 1989 KX250 a little while ago, and it is in real nice shape. I just ran across a 1989 KX500 for a good price that looks decent. What parts are interchangeable on these two bikes? I was thinking of buying the KX500 and pulling the best parts from each one to have a really nice KX500. I like 250s, but I love 500s.
I know plastic and the seat are the same, but what about the other parts? Is the frame the same? Are the suspension components the same? Or maybe the same with different spring rates? Would the KX500 engine bolt into the 250 frame?
