If you buy the new updated kicker from Kawasaki it is twice as thick at the base as the old ones. No breakage with those.

Anyone tried to TIG or stick weld one back together?

Neither are stock, and both are great desert bikes.

I've had them tigged.
Depending on the welder they will hold for a while but mine kept cracking around the weld.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

Thats because Kawasaki updated the kick lever to a more beefier unit around 1998 ?

FYI, guys DON'T attempt to weld a broken kick lever..... aluminum is very difficult to weld with respect to high strength loads. A welded kick lever is at some point going to be a trip to the hospital with a snapped ankle, and a smashed cheese grated shin !

wow 1998? then my bike must have had to original kicker on it since 89 and you can imagine how worn out it was!
it would never click in and it would wobble 2cm up and down. but i have the new updated version now.
