Beach race
« on: August 31, 2010, 02:27:38 AM »
Using my Kx5 this sunday for a 3 hour beach race. Some of the top riders in Scotland coming to it. As for me I am not one of them, no way near it I am just a normal fun rider hitting 40 but hoping to give them a race down the beach seaction. Looks like I will be the only rider on a 500 the rest on fourstrokes or 250 2 strokes. Was out last sunday at a local club mx meeting using my 450 and blistered my hand so not sure what 3 hours will be like next Sunday not sure if I will last 1 hour  :-o The coarse will proberly be 5 miles in total through fields and sand dunes with a 3/4 to a mile straight on the beach itself. I will be proberly be useless on most of the course but I can not wait to see what she does on the beach itself lookout 450s  putting the gearing to 15 / 45

This is the proper application of the KX500, it should spank the 450s.

Some years there is not enough sand on the beach as it comes and goes depending on the way the wind is blowing but this year there seem enough sand, first time since 2007. So when there is no sand on the beach we just miss out that section and just use the fields and the dunes section. Its a weekend event with a motocross meeting at our local track on the Saturday so you get 4 races on the saturday then the 3 hours race on the sunday and then you get someone to clean your bikes as your in the bath for the rest of the week

Have done two beache races with 15/43. Was a bit to much on the way back, but man what a thrill on the long end.
Have fun on wave the competition whe you blast them by :-D
