'87 Shocks
« on: August 13, 2010, 05:23:12 AM »
OK, another question for the '87 owners out there.........Anyone do any shock swappery? Mine is pretty whooped and I'd prefer to simply replace it. I understand that the bottom mounts are different but I'm willing to find a work-around. The big gotcha is going to be in the angle of the section that connects the reservoir to the upper mount/body, as I just read about in Motorrad's thread. I saw this would be a problem a while back and did happen to find a suitable shock w/ a male lower mount, but it was unidentified and unavailable - no help. I don't care so much about the valving, I can fix that.

Anybody with some experience or ideas? :?

FWIW, I searched out "87 shock" and couldn't find anything useful - mostly newer and some older model discussions.

Thanks!
