Anyone have any idea why this thing is not just welded to the frame? I have never had to take it off for any reason, and have thought about welding in place perminantly.

I've had to take that piece of crap off, that bracket bends
I have a machine shop machine me a little piece to go behind it and now that whole thing is welded in place.

I think Kaw bolts it on so they can charge for an extra piece and two bolts. Kickstand mount perhaps?

I always wondered what the reason was and Im sure Destry Abbott is to if you heard about the last couple races hes had.Anyway there are kits with a new bracket for it to bolt on or weld on both peg mounts so weld away.

I have had to replace the stock one twice in two years. The last one was a ZipTy bolt on. Very nice compared to the weak, stock piece o crap.

I think its bolted on so you can get to the linkage bolt easier, makes it real easy to get a socket in there.
