Remove mud stains

Hey guy's

I just bought my son a 03 kx65 that I think has never been washed. I clean it and pressure washed it and it still looks dirty in most places. The Georgia red clay has stained the brake calipers, hubs, etc / any good tips for removing these mud stains?

Same thing here in Oklahoma with the red clay.  I power wash all the mud off then I use a soft wash cloth with dish soap on the plastic.
2 or 3 times a year I give it the tooth brush treatment with Ajax or Comet on the metal.  Do a small test scrub on anything shiny to make sure it does not take the luster off.  I don't let it dry, I scrub and rinse.  I put my bike on the forklift at work so I'm working at chest level saving my back.

Humm, I never tought about comet or ajax, I bet that stuff will clean the heck out of the hubs and calipers. Thanks.

I used a light solution of aluminum brightener to remove red clay stains of my white truck. Good for paint, plastic, cast aluminum, not so good for polished aluminum. You can get that at autozone maybe, I get mine at the heavy duty truck parts store.

I'm sorry for being a little off topic but you know what I love for cleaning seats is soft scrub with bleach and a plastic brush. It will make the dingiest of seats look brand new. You guys know that black stuff that gets on the sides of your colored seats? takes that crap right off.

If I was you I would try AWESOME the stuff that sell on TV, I found it at the dollar store.  That stuff works wonders, I use it when I clean my bikes. I will say when and if you do stay away from the seat I learned the hard way that the stuff is no joke....it's a clear bottle and the fluid is yellow. Trust me this stuff never let me down GOOD LUCK!!

Well since I've had the bike it's been detailed/washed three times and each time I'm making progress on the mud stained hubs/brake calipers etc. it's starting to look good. Thanks Guy's.

a friend of mine sandblasts and then clear coats his hubs and calipers to keep them looking new. seems to work really good

I'm from Ohio so not much red clay except for the red stuff you find sometimes in the strip mines but for hard to get stains I like some Bug and Tar remover on a cloth, takes the stain off right now.
