Do you guys leave your oversized tank on when your out at the track instead of screaming across the desert?

I was going to swap between the tanks, but I don't really want to.  I suppose I will just get used to the big tank between my legs, eh?

Both the boys are great MX riders, but I'm not very good at jumping.  However, we all three leave the big tanks, Scotts dampener, hand guards, etc. on the bikes when at the track.  Like Paul said, we usually get a lot of ribbing until the boys hit the track and are able to ride with the boys in the Pro classes.  Kind of funny to see the change in attitude after the first few laps of full on MX tripples.

A friend of mine likes to ride on a MX track, but will ride any where. We have a lot of single track with tree branches and when I asked why he wont run hand guards he said"because they weigh to much" I had to laugh and tell him to give me a better excuse than that.Hes just self conscious of how they look, not MXish.

Here's a sign of Stupidity. I got my bike back in full Moto-trim. No gaurds, no-busters, stock-tank...nada.

I've been trail riding and I miss all of it!

I'm putting my IMS, Barky's w/ Gaurds, Scotts...all of it...back on just in time for some MOTO! Yup, I'll be "Correcting" my off-road issues just in-time for some "Spring-MX" and I'll be wearing my Desert Stuff proudly!

What used to be cool was before Ty Davis left Team Green he would race Mammoth Mtn. (MX race) on his desert KLX 650 with changing anything and win!Big tank,bashbars/skidplate,hand guards ect. and he also dressed the part, camel back, fanny pack, and even a radio/cb that they wore down in Baja.It was something to win on the heavy KLX,but he did it with style! To bad he left for Yamaha.

Best thing to do is to ride the bike that you'll be racing. I race open desert so myself and the bike are always in race trim.

Oddly enough, when I ride without my fanny pack, I notice it missing...same goes for the hydration system.  Too weird...
