Newbie from Colorado
« on: April 27, 2010, 05:22:53 PM »
Hello All,

Thanks to all for putting together such a great site.  I'm a long time KX rider 85 KX 80, 87 KX 80, 87 KX 125, 88 KX 125, 1990 KX 250, 1992 KX 250, 1994 KX 250 & 1995 KX 250.......then I strayed somewhat and tried others out when I quit racing regulary.  Just bought a 2001 KX 500 as it is the only KX left that I have worshiped and never rode.  First ride was last weekend and I still can't wipe the grin off my face, why 500 two strokes died I'll never know.  Seriously, what is more fun than the raw power of that 500 and its still very light, in four stroke terms.

I have always remembered getting in the full roost of a KX 500 during practice at SRAC events in the pre race, tilled, loam on the tracks and it was like having a riot fire hose turned on you with rocks included.  Looking forward to dishing a little of that out to some strokers!

Pretty much siked if you can't already tell.  Thanks all for putting together a great site and it is really great to know so many others appreciate these machines so much!

Welcome to the forum. If you have any questions or problems there are many people willing to loose sleep to help out including myself.

The K5 is an excellent machine like no other. I just recently bought one myself. Rebuilt it from the ground up. Took about a month but WELL worth it. Don't be shy. Just jump right in. Share your stories, pics, and videos. Hang on, Have fun, and Stay Safe!

Cheers
It's hard to keep a drivers license riding a 2 stroke dirt bike on the street.  If you drive within the law they are VERY boring.
