KX500 Shift shaft
« on: April 21, 2010, 06:12:12 AM »
Hi Guys,

Threw the chain on my '91 KX500 sidecar. Broke the shift shaft clean at the cases. :x No case damage. :-D How it did not take the cases is a miracle. It mangled the case saver but it did its job. Question: I got another shift shaft from a '94 KX5, is it the same? Thanks,

Mike the Tall

I also bought a Team Green KX5 a few years back. 1995 that was never registered. Bill of sale from Paul Krause. No #s on cases. Actually got it registered easily, It is a little rough. All frame mods, Acme suspension, steering dampner, trick bike. It does not have a 2 piece clutch cover but... Plan to do complete rebuid soon.

Did you compare part numbers on the parts lists?

I'm pretty sure its 87-93 being the same.
then 94-up are interchangable.

91-92 are a smaller diameter, the rest are bigger.
