best model for desert type conversion

what would be the best model for converting to a 500 desert bike, ie more fuel capacity with out having to install multiple tanks.

I would have to say kx450r would be the best bike to convert Sean's how the kx450r is the best bike to use in the desert.

Thanks BDI, I'm gonna ask afew questions that might sound stupid but I have no bike dealers or even a bike mechanic where i live in aussie land, 600kms from the nearest town and thats 300ks from the nearest city.
what year is the 450R?
can it take a single desert tank?
or what fuel capacity is it capable of ?
would any of the steel framed bikes be a better choice, seeing as how i will have to do all the conversion work myself.

I would agree that the kx450f would be the way to go. the suspension and egros from the 450 would be better than the stock 5 honey then just slap a steering stabilizer on there and you'll be great.
