Supermotard and KX500

I Have A Ktm 620 (65 Hk) Supermotard and a KX500, that ive started to rebuild as a Supermotard. Supermotard is HUGE here in Europe, But does anyone know some good links In the States, where Iam supposed to get  supermotard spares for the KX?

Very soon my http://www.supermotard.dk will be translated into English, so everybody will be welcome.

I'm in the planning stages for a KX500 SUPERmotard right now...mine is going to be street legal doing some track days through the summer

So far I found everything I need through White Bros...to get it street legal and street worthy anyways...once I get on the road and runnin good then I'll be looking into tweeking all the little things to make it really nice...until then..my list is about $2000 worth of White Bros., UFO, Ty Davis goodies, Excel rims, and sticky street tires....and thats above the cost of the bike that i haven't gotten yet...I'm still lookin for an excuse for a speedometer..and I need at least a leather jacket and gloves and a good pair of boots and mirrors and a graphics kit and frame guards and wide footpegs and a tach and someone ruined my life with a link to Flexx bars (I WILL have a set of those 8) )....god my wife is gonna kill me.....

At certain revs I just about need rubber mounted eyeballs so mirrors would be no use at all :shock:

I use a digital pushbike speedo :)  Jobs a good un

Oh and ulves, What bits are you looking for?

Well mainly I was going to compare some prices, if anyone had a few good links or so.
But for the KX i was lookin` for rims 4.5 to 5 inches and 3,75 "
Id might need a Hydraulic clutch and a 320mm brake rotor.
I have a spare set of hubs, so all i need is the rims and spokes.
It might as well be easyer to buy in Germany, where i use to buy.

demo...yeah the mirror thing was kind of a joke...but I'm gonna need at least one to pass inspection for registration...i ain't sayin it will be the most useful thing..but i will need one...

As far rims ulves...I've decided on Excell rims 3.50x17 for the front and a 4.25x17 for the back....they are pretty standard sizes from Excell and come in 36 holes predrilled that will lace up to the stock hubs..Excell makes motard specific rims in wider widths but they aren't predrilled...I'm gonna lace up the rims myself and don't want to deal with drillin the rims to...I'll be able to get a 120 tire on the front and a 150 maybe a 160 on the back...some good quality sticky street rubber starts at 150 so I think I'll be ok...at least until I can afford to have a set rims laced with Talon hubs made for me:mrgreen:

Give me some specifics ulves and i can find prices for you....our shop has Parts Unlimited, White Bos, Tucker Rocky, Motorcycle Stuff, and a few other catalagues....

Try to put on  Michelin Pilot Sport in the sizes you go for. Remember the "hight" profile: 60 back and 70 in the front. for perfect cornering.
I think its the best "sticky" tires ive tried for the road. I tried different
one on my KTM 620, but the pilot sport has by far the best grip. Don`t
expect the back tire to last more than 3000 KM.

If you thoose at least 4.5 back, you wont get any troubles with wide size tires, "makin` a funny top end ancle" which disturbs the driving.

Looking for all brand rims: Predrilled and 4.5 and 3.5 - 3.75.
I wont use a lot of money on this project. Because I will show the
European Motard lovers(and others), that everybody should be able to build a low cost Motard for the fun of the racetracks. Youll know what the heck I talk about as soon as i get  supermotard.dk translated to English

I dont know what year your bike is but mines a 90 model and I got one of those Braking Wave discs (320 mm) although I had to get a relocation braket made up,for  ?143 + P&P but I need to buy a rear rim and some spokes to complete the job.

I think that those with bikes later than 92 can get relocation brakets off the shelf though.
I would not bother with the caliper and master cylinder untill you see how the original one copes, I know of people who are having no problems with standard stuff fading even on FAR heavier bikes than KX 5s

At the moment I have 2 sets of wheels though so can swap em over to go offroad.

Well mine is 98`
I`ve heard from another danish bloke who has a KX 500 for the racetracks, that the original brake disc gets way to hot.
When just foolin` around in Copenhagen, which I do on my Ktm Motard
I have no problems with using the small disc.

I too have a extra set of wheels, and one of them will I cut and  just keep the hubs.

Which is why I said I bought a 320mm braking wave disc :)

I just havn't bothered with uprating the caliper yet.

I will see how it works out when I have got the sticky tyres on :)

If I have a problem with brake fade I will uprate the caliper as well.
