front sprocket

ya i got a 92 kx500 last year right had a few problems other then that the bike has been GREAT but my front sprocket i recently noticed that it has half the teeth missing no  s**t exactly half of the teeth on the sprocket are gone and i dunno  when i lost em or if it was already like that but yeah they gone so what i was wondering if anyone knows what type of sprocket i need 12,13,14,15 im not sure which one it is but if anyone knows and can help me out i would really appreciate it thanks.

I've never bought from Babbits but is a great place to look up parts.

I get my OEM parts from a friend that works at the Kawasaki shop in the parts dept.    I receive my parts with a nice discount.

Stock is 14/47, 14 front....47 rear. I run 15/50 for mx. It is numaricaly the same but I can swap wheels with my KX450f's and a larger countershaft sprocket is easyer on the chain.

I've used Babbitts and they have terrible service,,,,,use anyone but them.

Depends on what kind of ridding you do. Going to a smaller front gear is going to gear your bike down.
 For me I run 14 49 and I ride in the the woods..

I ride a lot of tight trails and am running a 14/48 at this time.  I would like to go to a 50 rear for the type of riding I do maybe even a 52.    B.O.

I've setteled in on 14/49 gearing. Good in the woods, acceleration will rip your arms out of their sockets, and top speed is still good. 14/47 stock gearing makes 1st gear a tad to "chuggy" and high geared, going slow in the technical stuff IMO..

Stewart told me that 13 tooth will rub the case and to not go smaller than a 14 on the front.

Keep in mind 16T and larger front sprockets will not fit unless you grind off the sprocket guard mounts ! Been there, done that, and have an unused 16T sprocket as a result....

My bike's case is pretty messed up from it. I would go with increasing the rear sprocket, I'll  add some pics & link to Cam's post later.
