check out the exhaust cutout on my k5

It actually broke off when I laid it down on some rugged terrain, specifically the crown king trail.  It was an extremely loud ride back.

Thats a rare one.  Must have been a few tiny cracks.  Hope you found the piece - weld it back in and you are good to go. Cam.

Are you sure it wasn't MORE than loud?  After you fix it here's a great "how to" by KXcam22.

I just took off the pipe and found out why it broke off like it did;  The bike fell on the right side, and it tweaked the pipe way out of alignment.  It was pushing against the gas tank and right side frame by the seat. It also crushed my power valve cover.   There were a few small cracks where it broke and I guess the heavy twisting kinda made cracks give way. Anyways, I plan on buying a brand new one and replacing my power valve cover.  It would be nice to put that kevlar protector on it... maybe soon.  Definately gotta get the bike back to running condition before Glamis on Halloween!
