(when you open the window, move the blue dot to the left and shrink the view, the crank will come into view)

Are you saying the end of the crank sheared off with the nut?

Tuck, thats for an EX500.
JDB you are correct its a 12mm, and i believe its 1.25 thread. (as I assume you are talking the flanged nut)

there is no bolt there to shear , just the crankshaft and 12m nut that could strip the treads, sayin that i have seen the nut welded to crank when the treads had been damaged
