The comparison of the 450 to the 500
« on: July 20, 2009, 08:39:42 AM »
It always seems to come up so I got bored and played with photoshop a bit. I took the only dyno chart I have ever seen of a KX500 or  a CR500 and transposed them over a graph of a 450 I ganked from the bills pipe page. Everyone knows the numbers dont really mean a whole lot but you can compare the curves to scale :D

2000 KX500
1998 Warrior, with RD350 engine (Blown up)
1973 RD350 (In storage)

I was going to, but a quick search didn't turn it up. Couldn't remember where to find it lol. Finding KX dyno results is hard! Ive only ever seen 3 period. 2 from stewart, one was raw numbers one was a chart, and then the one in this picture. All others are dead links or non existent.

That big dip on the kx500 graph looks like the bike spun the tire. I tried to dyno my bike with a knobby and all the pulls looked like that from tire spin. Dynoing the 500 with a knobby was stupid but fun, there was a strip of melted rubber behind the bike that went clear across the shop. The bike dynoed 58 horse at the tire while doing a burnout on the drum.

Or the power valves were not set-up right or working right.
