k5 front wheel interchangeability (is that a word?)
« on: June 01, 2009, 08:19:33 AM »
Hi, I have a 95 k5 that had an unexpected meeting with an ATV resulting in a huge dent in the front wheel.
I need to find a new one asap. My question is which wheels fit which which bikes?
There is a 2004 wheel on ebay, in the description it says will fit all years with USD forks, you can change the axle and bearings.
It sounds a bit suspect, why would you change the bearings, surely 2004 bearings fit a 2004 wheel.
I know the axles changed a few times over the years but can I take my 95 axle and make it fit a 2004 wheel ?
I did a search and couldn't find an answer, let me know if this is posted somewhere else.

Thanks, Bob

KXBob,
Yes, the 2004 wheel will work on your 95 K5. I would do a post in the wanted section, as I am sure someone here has a front wheel for you & it helps each other on the forum. By the way a KX125 & KX250 wheel fits also which widens the market for you. Keep us posted.
