STD PWK 35 vs PWK 35 AirStriker
« on: March 06, 2009, 08:02:52 AM »
Hey!

Is there any noticeable difference between those two. I'm buying a new carb for my 125 since rebuilding my old pwk costs about the same.

I have understood that Airstriker is best selection for 125 and 250 am i right?

Any big differences in jetting? Like major changes in throttlevalves and needles? Im familiar with jetting and i can get my jets correct but im not so sure about getting throttlevalve right.

Any comments and experiences are appreciated!

i have used every pwk model there is at one time or another, on my ktm it had a 38mm quad vent, swapped in same carb but with the air foil deal on rear, i'm sure it helped, but i did not notice. my jetting did not change. if you could get the quad vent air stryker model, get it. the upper vents are a very nice improvement.

your talking about the 2 little fins on the bottom of the carb? Byron909 is confusing me, all the new pwk kawi carbs have 4 vents, not sure they really make a difference. I had/have the boysen wing in the rear on a 250 didn't really notice a difference, I have also used the wings on the inlet side, they were from a company called starting line products they worked, it also made the jetting a bit rich. Whats wrong with the carb  you have? there aren't that many parts that wear

I just thought if an Airstriker would give me better performance . I was going to do a complete rebuild. It nearly costs the same as a new carb. The o-ring which seals the jet block to the carb was bad. I couldn't find it anywhere.

Yes the carb with those two little fins with 4 vents is Airstriker/quadvent.

After long searching i found it. Its number 33. -> http://www.motorcyclecarbs.com/Keihin_PWK33-41_Std_Parts_W251C1572.cfm

Its strange that Sudco doesn't sell it or any other dealers. In exploded wiev it says do not remove parts not show in this wiev. But they still sell the o-ring which requre to remove the jet block to change it?
