Those fuel filters are rated at 75 microns.  As far as I can tell engine vacuum leaks into the chamber over the slide which then draws air up the vent hoses that vent that chamber.  Cam.

I would feel better with a oiled foam filter type system. Some guys are using the canister that your 35mm film comes in.

  That exactly where I am headed.  I have a small nalgene bottle, larger than a film container that will nicely hold some oiled foam.  Cam.

I looked at a number of different filtering options but didn't come up with any I really liked and that looked good.  I ended up using RC car fuel filters with a tiny bit of oiled twinair foam in them.  I have seen this idea used before. The filters were $3.30 each and are extremely cool billet aluminum, even available in colors.  The lego for the holder was free.  I didn't filter the floatbowl line since I an sure in my bike history I would have seen dirt entry there countless times before on many bikes.  Cam.

What kind of filter element inside?? I got a R/C hobby shop close to my work.

Comes with a fine screen, but I put in a sm piece of oiled foam with the screen. Cam.

Warning from someone that runs one of the largest rc websites on the net. They have stainless steel screen in them that is FAMOUS for comming appart and trashing rc motors.

I like the idea of removing the screen and just replace with oiled foam from an old filter. I might just head over to the hobby shop this week.

 I could see how that would be a problem.  These have plastic screens so they may have been upgraded after some complaints in the RC world. Cam.
