Give some feed back about what issues you are having.

What spring you need?

Some people have stated the oil used can affect the kick starter but I have never had an issue. Have you removed the kick starter and inspected the ratch type teeth on both gears?

Maybe remove kicker starter shaft for inspection, maybe cleaning and re-assembly can help or reveal another issue.

I had the same problem.  Be careful taking your clutch off.  The hub is easy to break with the wrong tools and hard to replace on an '86.

I have another post on this topic. If your kicker wont always engage I suggest to see if the teeth need to be sharpened.

If the spring is not broken stretch it out half again as long as when you start.
I have fixed more kxs and tecates this way than I can remember.
I have also thought about sharpening the teeth as some have done but that is not what the problem is the teeth dont slip just the gear isnt being forced into it hard anoff. streching the spring or a new one works every time.

i may buy the whole thing from ebay and wait until it dont catch at all because i dont have a cluch puller and also after the bike is shut off over night about 4-5 drops of oil drips out of the drain plug is it possable to put a rubber washer there as i dont want to titen it to much im afraid im gonna strip the there in the base?
