assembling the power valve
« on: May 01, 2009, 03:43:22 AM »
Howdy,

I received my KX5 jug back from re-plating and having a compression release installed. I was installing the power valve last night and realized I should be lubing it before I put it back together. Any suggestions on how or what type to use?

Any tricks to getting it back together besides lining up the dots with the notches?

Peace and thanks in advanced.

I always lube mine with 2stroke oil , I also use this as my assembly lube for the rest of the topend and crank. Depends in the year of the motor.
Yep, you can ride it - if YOU can start it !!

Just make sure that you have them timed correctly.  Seems as though there is a one tooth difference option.  Sometimes they over close in an attempt to make the engine easier to kick.  When the rod is all the way in, the barrel edge should line up with the exhaust port wall.  Not rotate into it.
