Have you used or know of any storage bike stands that are mobile, compact, durable and sturdy for the garage?
I have several bikes to store in a small space and am looking for a simple garage stand that can be wheeled around to shuffle the bikes into a tight grouping. The bikes include at least (3) off-road bikes and at least (1) sport bike. The off-road bikes weigh less than 300 lbs and the sport bike about 450 lbs.
The ideal stand would be able to be wheeled into position under the bike(s) and then raised to lift the bike high enough to get both wheels off the ground. Min clearance for the off-road bikes is about 12? and would need to get to about 17? to be high enough. I have not measured the sport bike.
I have looked at the foot pedal lift stands and considered mounting them on some kind of wheeled platform, however most seem to be less than sturdy. Their tube-in-tube design seems to be pretty loose, allowing the platform to rock a fair bit.
I looked at the HF transmission jacks, but they are really wobbly, especially at full height. Besides, they require a lot more floor space to jack up, and I like the idea of the one foot elevation lever.
The idea is to get a stand that will allow all the bikes to be pushed together into a tight grouping, and moved as needed.
Any ideas?
