1994 kx500 shock and fork spring rates
« on: April 11, 2009, 11:42:13 AM »
I weigh 225 to 230 with gear and ride desert.  race tech spring rate calculator shows i need .46 fork and 5.7 rear using 210lbs (without gear).

I have searched some past threads and saw one or two of yo with same weight using the .46 fork but not the 5.7 rear.  seems like that would be stiff.  it also looks like a 5.7 is not sold only 5.6 or 5.8.

I am interested in how many of you weigh around 225 to 230 with gear and what fork and shock springs you use.

I am not planning to spend money on revalve.  i was always ok with stock valving until i gained weight

I also ride the Desert and weigh the same as you in riding gear. If you are not doing huge jumps or motoing, you can go with the lighter spring no problem.
