New Member-Long time KX500 devotee

Hello out there. New to this board. Owner of 3+ Kx500. '91 KX500 EML motocross sidecar, '91 KX5 solo(2 wheeler), '95 KX5 ex Paul Krause team green solo. Plus many spares.

I have loved the KX5 since I brought my KX sidecar over from Belgium. Once I got it I became A KX5 devotee.

The KX5s have taken me all over the SO. Cal deserts. Can't beat the power. I had CR500s before, sidecar and solo. I prefer the KXs.

I will post more in the coming days, then I can post sidecar pics.

Keep your 5s ROOSTIN.

Mike the Tall

 :-D :-D

Thanks for the welcome KX500freak.

I am a sidecar nut as well as a Nut in general.
I will post pics once I reach my magic 10 posts.
The KX5s were very popular in sidecar racing until people switched to Zabel and other large CC engines purpose built for sidecars.

I currently own 6 sidecars. The above mentioned KX5 sidecar and:

EML MTH 633cc motocross sidecar
EML Zabel 700cc motocross sidecar
EML Ninja 600cc Mx sidecar converted to run Pikes Peak hill climb
EML Yamaha XS650 currently being rebuilt. 1000cc locked up the crank, crank was not stroked correctly.
And last is A Bultaco Sherpa T with a BKS trials sidecar.

I have owned other sidecars over the years but this is my current stable.

This is a very useful site. I wish I would have found it sooner.

I like to see other sidecars with Kx5s. That looks like an EML sidecar also. Do you know who made the chassis?

Keep it on the pipe. :-D :-D

Mike

I would like to point out that Mike is not just your average sidecar nut. He grew up in the sport; his father was a sidecar racer of some note and threw Mike on as a passenger at an early age.
Mike is also 1 of 3 sidecar teams that represented the USA at the Sidecar Des Nations in Switzerland in 1996. This was the only time American teams were able to appear at this event, it has never happened again. In my opinion Mike and his passenger were the most consistently fast team we had at the event. Unfortunately Mike had really bad luck with equipment and was not able to show his speed that weekend.
So there is a little something about him that only a few in our small sport know about.
