This is so sad. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. It is a dangerous sport and we all accept the risks. But the reality of death makes you rethink some things.

Folks, help me here. From what I can tell he was NOT wearing a neck brace. Is that right? Is that explainable? The crash last year on the same trick looked like he wasn't wearing either.

Also, last years crash seemed to have more down ramp and softer dirt. The one that killed him looks like he was either long or not enough down ramp AND looks like freaking concrete.

Please accept my apologies if this is inappropriate.

RIP, Jeremy.

RIP, Jeremy.

Do any of the freestylers wear them?  I've never worn one or tried one on so I dont know how much they restrict head and neck movement, but I do know from being coached from a friend of mine who is an ex pro bmx dirt jumper that you lead with your head and your body follows. What you do with your head in the air has alot to do with where the rest of your body goes especially with flips and spins. Maybe this is why they dont wear them, but thats just my guess.  Very sad news indeed. I dont think asking about it is inappropriate. Asking questions and talking about things helps deal with/understand/accept/cope with loss.

RIP Jeremy. My prayers are with your family and friends.

if you  watch his jumps leading up to the last jump he was making mistakes and tired to i bet . i have learned if you mess up because you lose concentration or are just tired than you should stop rest or clear your head also the arena looks small . . a lot of time i want to go for a ride and my head isn't in it .so i stay home . he was a great rider and will be missed. god bless and godsspeed .
race gas is fast but Q16 hauls azz.i still ride because i am not ready to have been that fast. i ride a kx500 because they don't make a kx600!ck k5abuser on youtube

I admired Jeremy's love of the Lord, I'm sure the Lord has welcomed him to his presence. Kinda reminds me of 20 years ago when Lane Frost died ridin a bull,,,, young guys still ride bulls,,, I suppose young guys will still push the FMX envelope.  God Bless his family.

This is a tragic loss!  It is so amazing how easy he made what he did look so effortless.  He was a terrific rider and will be greatly missed by riders across the country.  My family's thoughts and prayers are with Jeremy and his family.  RIP Jeremy and God Speed!
