Back in the saddle

The last 2 weeks have been exciting. My 15 yr old son has been saving for his first K5 and we ran into a great deal on a 90 a real nice tight bike plastic was a little faded and tires weathered but for only 900 was a swingen deal.
Then my 9 yr old decided the old YZ60 was two slow so he found a 97 KX60
After I spent some seat time on the boys bike I had to have another one I sold my 86 which I bought brand new in 1990.and have always wanted another so I happened on to a 94 with a 88 parts bike it needs some cosmetics but I am in love already.
the purple seated one is the 90 and the green is the 94.

  It's always great to get out with the kids and whoop it up!

Ah I remember getting my first K5 back when I was 16... 134lbs I was....  WOW what a ride.. Haven't felt that kind of acceleration since..   

Glad to see a family shared interest.  Thats how I grew up, and Id have to say my father is my best friend now because of it. Kept me out of lots of trouble in my teen years, wrenching in the garage with him on old bikes...   Now that we are both older we are doing alot of riding together etc. Just did a cross country trip (trans America trail) 4800 miles of dirt roads from Tennessee to Oregon.    Its nice to see that other family's can share what me and my father share...  Get out there and Ride..

Great deal on the bike BTW...

Motorrad, you should have said you were doing the trans America trail.  I have a KLR650, I would have done the Oklahoma part with you.

Did it back in June...   Before I was actually a true member here (was floating under my buddies screen name who owns my old 87 K5)

I would much rather see my kids rideing than playing video games all day.

How is aftermarket plastic for quality??
Motorsport.com has complet sets of UFO for $99.both our new bikes need a set.

hey steve. What is the bike with no fender or engine? I would like to find a beater KX rolling chassis to put one of my 250's in..

Thats my parts bike I thought it was a 88 Know I have my doughts.
