Multiple Bike Trailers

Hey Guys,
I know how you guys do it when you have one or two, but was wondering, if you guys on here, that take several bikes out to play or race, have any secerets on getting many bikes on one truck. Right now, we have a three bike trailer. That allows us to haul five, since we can put two in the bed of the truck. The problem, a good one to have, now we have six in the stable. And are always planning another. I would like to get a plan together to haul eight, so I am good to go for a few years. I have been looking at enclosed. We were able to borrow a very nice 18' enclosed for a weekend and were able to get six bikes and lots of gear. Probably could have got seven. (still could have got two in the truck)
My questions are;
Anyone hauling 7 or 8? What kinda trailer?
Any demensions that you feel work better than others?(i.e. widths or lengths)
Any trailer or whatever that you got and didn't work out?
Any stagger that you use to condense the bikes?
Ever put more bikes in the truck than seemed possible?
This may be helpful for us who like, or have to, all ride together.

I've regularly put 3 bikes in the back of my truck, 2 forward and one in the middle pointing backwards. I've even put my buddies boys little pw80 in there sideways along the tailgate. Truck is a 2500 Chevy longbed

I used to have an enclosed 6 X 12 with V-nose that I could get 4 in; I'm surprised you couldn't do more with the 18 footer. An option I've used on my 3 rail to get a 4th bike was I welded a receiver hitch on the back of the trailer, then slid in a receiver type bike hauler. I've also seen others add a 4th rail on the tongue of the trailer. If you did both of these mods to the 3 rail trail (making it 5), and put 3 in the truck you'd have 8. Just don't know where you'd put all your gear.

With that receiver on the back of the trailer, I've also hauled a second trailer behind it (legal in Utah, not sure about other states). It worked great for a dune trip, but we had to take my friend's big diesel 2500 to pull it all.

My trailer is 20', we can get 10 hillclimbers in it and the trailer we had in Indiana was 28' and we had 12 in it plus all our gear, tools, generator and whatever else. When we were only MX'ing I had a 6x12 and it was big enough, but now that we doing some climbing you can sometimes ride 6-7 classes so you end up taking 5-6 bikes. your not that far from the trailer capital of the world, you should be able to get a good deal on one, I'd go with the 8.5 wide and then figure the length, I like 20'

7 x 14 Enclosed, 6 MX Bikes, Gear, Water Tank, Etc. Check out the Bike Shoes for locking the bikes down. I have been using these for many years and very satisfied, and no need to have tie downs every where. Used to set the bikes on the bike stand and then used turn buckles to clamp them down. This worked well, but required alot more effort to load up. These styles of loading also keeps the suspension unloaded.

I have seen those Moby Dick Trailers like Don46 uses, (Thats alot of trailer), heading to a track in the middle of nowhere with one tire over the line and the other kicking up dirt from the shoulder (ditch) and the truck is in the middle of the lane.

Drove my buddies motorhome back from Budds Creek last year with one of the above trailers and thought everyone would just have to move out of the way, that was until I was crossing the Potomac River Bridge (fairly narrow) and an 18 Wheeler is heading towards us with the Jake Brakes Howling. You Guys have my respect tugging those barges!

I'm now at the point that I need to upgrade my hauling situation.  Not quite to 8 bikes but 3 and a quad.  What are these bike shoes of which you speak?
