hello everybody! another noob here....
« on: July 09, 2010, 02:45:02 AM »
Howzit? I just picked up a 98 KX 125 that needs some work for four hundred bucks..I havent had a bike for a few years, last bike I had was a 96 RM 250, and before that I had an 81 YZ 465...Loved both them bikes! kinda funny I just picked up a 125, havent rode one since I was a teenager...But I'm sure it will be a fun bike. I saw this forum online while lurking around for info and figured this has got to be the forum to join since I just got myself a KX 125, and what better place to meet other Kawasaki riders and get technical info than right here!

Hey Klaus,
Glad you found us, where about are you located and what kind of riding are you looking forward to?  There are just about every kind of KX rider here from a kx powered lawnmower to the world land speed dirt bike record holder.  I hope we will be able to help you out and let the good times roll!
I'm gonna finnish up some "Honey Do's" and then see if I can help with the starter /clutch issue.
Welcome and hang in there, you'll be Ring-Dinging that 125 with a grin from ear to ear in no time! :-D

Tuck, thanks for the greeting. I live in northern MN, and I usually ride trails, sometimes I will ride on tracks, theres a few scattered here and there in my area. Usually its just trails to get to a gravel pit, ride, ride, ride, head out to the next place. I live in an area where theres mine pits scattered throughout the area, and the only bad thing about that is the iron ore will STAIN EVERYTHING if you dont wash your bike/gear right away after you get done riding!! Ha Ha. KX powered lawnmower you say? Now THATS SWEET!! Its been a while since I rode a 125, I know its a smaller bike, but I'm sure I'll have fun on it! I might have to look into converting it to a 'woods bike'...

Hey Klaus,
Nothing at all wrong with riding a 125 Bro! :-D   There are several bike wash formulas that are supposed to help keep stuff from setting up on your bike and make it easier to keep kleen (iron ore dust/mud)  I have just finished off a can of tire foam stuff I got on sale at an auto parts store, (and it does make clean-up easier) I'm gonna look for some of the cycle stuff on sale and see how it works.
I got busy and sidetracked on the starter/clutch issue, so I'll get right after it.
