I ran the 5 hunnie at various Baja races back in the early 90's. As far as suspension settings? You have to set up the suspension so that it will suit all the riders on your team. For example when Danny Hamel and Craig Smith teamed up to race the 1995 San Felipe 250 (3 months before Danny's death) Danny weighed 220 lbs and Craig weighed 165 lbs.....You kinda have to find a happy medium. I don't remember what pilot jet we were running but if I remember correctly we were running a 175 main. Gearing for the 1000 was a tall 16/42 which would be good for about 115-120 mph if conditions were right. Then there is all the basic desert stuff like 18 inch rear wheel, 3.6 gallon IMS tank with drybrake, steering dampner, bar end weights to cut down vibration, skid plate, etc....I have an old Larry Roeseler scrap book that I was making when I was younger and in that scrap book I have an article about Larry Roeseler's Baja KX500. I'll see if I can scan it and post it up.
